Spoor & Fisher Jersey: new Zambia trade mark, patent and design charges effective 20 August 2014
With immediate effect, due to the enactment of Statutory Instrument No. 8 of 2014, all fees payable to PACRA (Patents and Companies Registration Agency) have been increased.
ARIPO Working Group meeting on the amendment of the Banjul Protocol
The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) was established under the Lusaka Agreement of 1976. Its objective was to provide centralised registration of patents and industrial designs and to promote harmonisation of intellectual property legislation. Trade mark registration was not catered for until the Banjul Trade Marks Protocol came into effect in 1997.
Tshepo Shabangu to represent the LSSA at the IBA
Spoor & Fisher partner and trade mark specialist Tshepo Shabangu has been appointed as a representative of the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) at the International Bar Association ( IBA ) and, as her first duty, she will be attending the 2014 IBA conference in Tokyo.
