Tshepo Shabangu to represent the LSSA at the IBA

Spoor & Fisher partner and trade mark specialist Tshepo Shabangu has been appointed as a representative of the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) at the International Bar Association ( IBA ) and, as her first duty, she will be attending the 2014 IBA conference in Tokyo.

Law Society CEO Nic Swart has expressed his personal confidence that Tshepo will represent the South African legal fraternity with great distinction – and Spoor & Fisher endorses his sentiments.

Tshepo will be reporting to the LSSA Council on international developments in the legal profession and the way in which practices are run, she also has a mandate to promote the involvement of the LSSA in the leadership structures of the IBA.

Tshepo was also the first black person to be elected to the prestigious position of President of the SA Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL). She then went on to make history again by becoming the first ever SAIIPL president to serve a second term, an absolute sign of her competence and skill.

There is no doubt that Tshepo will do justice to her new role.
