Ghana: a new government and a lawyers’ strike

Ghana has a new government, following the election of President Nana Akuffo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party. This change of government is not expected to have any major impact on foreign investment. However, an issue that has the potential to deter investment is the fact that all lawyers in the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney General’s Department have been on strike for over two months, with the result that there are serious delays in processing IP matters.
