The South African Patent Office will be closed on 23 September and will also be closed on 24 September 2008 which is a public holiday in South Africa. These days are deemed dies non for the purpose of the South African Patents Act. In the case of any South African patent application to be granted on 25 September 2008 and in view of the closures, note that the deadline day for filing a pre-grant amendment is 22 September 2008.

If your South African patent application will be granted on 25 September 2008 and you are considering voluntary amendments, please contact your South African patent attorney before the deadline of 22 September 2008.
